The natural beauty of IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador is both rivaled and complimented by a great golfing experience. Golf at IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador has always been challenging, rewarding and convenient for players of all skill levels.

Opened in 1972 and chartered in 1980 as a private country club, the original course was a 6,673 yard, par 72 layout.  Following a $2.5 million renovation by Gene Bates Golf Design of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, the “new” IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador reopened as the region's most playable, scenic and technically advanced golf course.  The course has been lengthened to 6,855 yards from the back tees, and the routing of Nos. 10 and 18 was reversed.  resulting in a spectacular "island" green for No. 10 and an all-around "new course feel" for our members.  The new grass is a state-of-the-art hybrid developed specifically for southern courses.  'TifEagle' was planted on the greens and 'TifSport' on the fairways, tees and rough.  These thicker, denser grasses can be cut shorter and allow the golf ball to "sit up" better.  The renovation project also included replacement of the irrigation-drainage system, rebuilt sand traps and a larger practice facility.
